The '54s are a faithful reproduction, constructed with the most authentic and period correct materials available. Black vulcanized fiber bobbins with staggered alnico 3 pole pieces, and scatter wound coils with heavy formvar magnet wire. These are bright with a punchy attack but have a lower output because of the alnico 3, and they work beautifully with tweed amplifiers. Perfect for a vintage style Strat build or anybody who wants that classic tone from 1954. The middle pickup is reversed for hum canceling when used with a 5-way switch.

Chris Larson
Mr. Fatpups
I'm Chris and I love guitars. I was lucky enough to get my first guitar 27 years ago when I was 13 and I've been hooked ever since. As a youngster I immediately began tinkering with them and foolishly got myself in trouble one time for completely disassembling my Uncle's Strat. Oops!
Over the years I've had the opportunity to work a number of different jobs ranging from guitar teacher, to electronics manufacturing, to chef, to pickups. One thing that never changed during those years is my love for guitars and the ongoing pursuit of amazing guitar tone.
Today building pickups is my full time profession with myself as the Fatpups sole operator. Since 2015 I've been fortunate enough to have made thousands of pickups for people worldwide. I would be happy to hear from you so please let me know if there is anything I can do!
